Focus on your strengths

Probably the best investment you can make in yourself is discovering your strengths. I’m preferential to Kolbe and their online profiler. Once you’ve gone through this test (only takes about 25 minutes), it outlines four different areas of strengths. There is no right or wrong answer, merely areas of proficiency.

You should use your results as a blueprint for your career. Take it to your next review. Instead of allowing your company to focus on your weaknesses, show them your strengths and discuss how they can be leveraged more in your job. If they don’t listen, they may not be the right company for you.

As we search for more meaning in our work, you’ll likely be more committed to a company that allows you to do what you want to do – and more importantly, what you’re meant to do.
